Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement as heavy rainfall is expected to hit the region on Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada is predicting a significant amount of rain this weekend for most of Southern Ontario, including Oxford County.
A low pressure weather system is expected to hit the region late Saturday afternoon. Heavy rain will continue through Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
Our area is expected to get somewhere between 30 to 50 mm of rain, with the heaviest rain falling overnight Saturday. Rain will taper to scattered showers near midday Sunday.
Rainfall warnings are not expected to be issued for this event. Ensure that storm drains are clear of leaves and other debris. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods as well as water pooling on roads. Local power outages are possible.
