A local man is going to set up a community table in downtown Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - A Woodstock man is looking to help the homeless in Museum Square.
Chris Eby will be setting up a community table once a week, with free food and drinks.
He says this is an issue that hits close to home for him.
"Because of friends of mine that live in Indwell that also live on the street, it's important to me that I put something out on the weekend when they're not able to get something into their stomach."
He will have apples, cookies, juice and water available when he sets his first table up on Saturday September 15th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Eby says absolutely anyone is welcome to stop by.
"Whether it be Mayor Trevor Birtch, one of the homeless, the city councillors or a store owners; they're all welcome to come and get a drink."
Eby also plans on continuing this when the colder weather arrives.
"I don't care how cold it is. I will dress for it because these people are important to me."
