A push is on to help stock the shelves at the Salvation Army Food Banks in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - A couple of community food drives will look to help stock the shelves at the Salvation Army Food Bank in Woodstock.
They have two more food drives coming up with one on Saturday at No Frills. Organizer Chris Eby says he is hoping to see a lot of people come out to help him reach his goal of 7,000 pounds.
"Saturday September the 2nd is a big one a back to school food drive from 8 am until 4 pm at No Frills in Woodstock. Love to see you there, Mayor Birtch will be there for an hour or so and I know Trevor would love to have you come in and say hi to him."
He adds that last week they raised 3000 pounds at a food drive at Food Basics.
"The first one at Food Basics was unbelievable, we raised 3000 pounds of food. So I am about a third of the way there from last year at 7000 pounds and I want to go over the top of 7000 and keep it growing."
The final food drive is happening on Saturday September 30th at Sobeys.
