The Cycling Advisory Committee is looking for three new members to help make Oxford County a more attractive place for cyclists.
OXFORD COUNTY - Cycling enthusiasts in Oxford County are invited to help pave the future of the sport in the County.
The Cycling Advisory Committee is looking for three citizens to join them.
Committee members provide advice and recommendations to County Council on local cycling related issues. The goal of the group is to build a bike-friendly community. They want to encourage everyone to get out and bicycle more, by making Oxford County a more bike friendly area.
The goals of the Cycling Advisory Committee are as follows:
- To advocate and promote community education and events to increase cycling safety and participation;
- To advocate and engage organizations/businesses to support cycling in Oxford County;
- To support, advocate and assist with the creation of a safer cycling environment;
- To assist with cycling policies, strategies and programs;
- To facilitate communication and collaboration among the eight area municipalities, stakeholders and community partners;
- To assist and promote cycling tourism within Oxford County.
Residents interested in applying are asked to submit, in writing or by email, an application including a resume by June 25, 4:00 p.m. to:
