Environment Canada says the hot temperatures will reach close to 30 degrees and even higher with the humidity, getting into the upper thirties. The public is encouraged to drink plenty of water and to never leave people or pets inside a parked car.

OXFORD COUNTY - The heat is expected to continue today.

Environment Canada says the hot temperatures will reach close to 30 degrees and even higher with the humidity, getting into the upper thirties. 

They say extreme heat affects everyone, but the risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses or people working or exercising outside. They also say to not leave people or pets in the car.

According to Environment Canada, people should drink plenty of water, even before they feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

A passage of a cold front is expected to arrive this evening bringing cooler temperatures and lower humidity for the rest of this weekend.
