Hundreds came out to enjoy Ingersoll's five day Harvest Fest
INGERSOLL - Ingersoll's Harvest Fest has wrapped up another successful year.
Hundreds took part in the celebration that took over Centennial Park and the downtown core from Wednesday to Sunday. Councillor for the Town of Ingersoll, Gord Lesser, explains just how well the 5 day festival went. "It's been great! The Park has said the same thing; there has been a nice steady stream of people through the park so we appreciate the support. People are coming out and obviously buying some stuff or just coming out and enjoying themselves at the event. That's what Ingersoll's all about; we run quite a few different events through the year and it's just a chance for the community to come out together." Lesser believed the beautiful weather encouraged people to come out and would like to thank everyone who took part.
Councillor Lesser explains the importance of holding events like this. "As a council, and also as different community groups, it is nice especially when you do the sidewalk sales - you see lots of people coming out and socialize a little bit. In tougher economic times we've had a lot of families appreciate it because we've got kids rides going on, there is no charge for it so there are not very many things you can go to that are free anymore."
