Peter and Michelle Burrell of Woodstock are the Dream Lottery winners
LONDON - He's having trouble standing up.
That was the reaction of Peter Burrell of Woodstock after learning he and his wife had just won the grand prize in the London Health Sciences Dream Lottery.
Burrell says at first he thought it was a telemarketer calling.
"They were talking about how I bought a ticket and I said to them, well, if you are who you say you are then I was just hoping to win enough money to win a car because my wife and I need to get a new car and they said, well, you can buy a lot more than that because you just won the grand prize! I thought well, that's pretty exciting!"
The couple now get to choose between one of three homes, in London, Toronto or Grand Bend, or a million dollars cash.
"No we don't know. We are supposed to meet with them in London (this afternoon), meet and greet and go over some information and just kind of enjoy the day and enjoy the excitement."
Peter says the couple played the lottery for a few years now.
"I would never have guessed when I bought this prize... Like I say, I was just hoping to get enough money to buy a newer car. I'm just thankful to God, this is a special gift. I'm just happy I won and I'm excited to see how things turn out!"
That's not the only Oxford winner, Maria Redecop of Tillsonburg won the 50/50 draw and took home $412,395.
