The bus was at full capacity as the entire Oxford County community helped Heart FM fill it with items for Stuff The Bus campaign.
WOODSTOCK - Stuff The Bus 2018 campaign was successful this year, as the bus was at full capacity with over 2500 pounds of food and more than enough toys for Operation Sharing. This was the first time the radio station has participated in the cause.
Stuff The Bus head organizer Cody Hayward says it turned out great.
"It's been great to see the community come out, support this cause and it's going to put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces this holiday season."
Heart FM, along with the Fire Department, delivered toys and non-perishable food items on December 7th. The non-perishable food items were delivered to the Salvation Army Food Bank in Woodstock, and the toys were brought to to Operation Sharing, CAS and Power of Hope Christmas Place. All of the items will be donated to families across the community for Christmas.
Hayward adds they'll make sure to get more people involved next year.
"We're just hoping to be able to advance, try and reach out to other Christmas parties, that seemed to be key this year at being able to fill the bus, as well as these important partnerships we've been able to expand on moving into next year."
Heart FM wants to thank the public for their generous donations, along with sponsors Scott's No Frills, Community Employment Services, Water Depot and Elgie Bus Lines for supplying the bus.
