$1,500 worth of gift cards were handed over to Operation Sharing today to help make those in Woodstock have a Merry Christmas
WOODSTOCK - Giant Tiger is getting into the spirit of giving with a big donation to Operation Sharing's Christmas event.
Operation Sharing's Christmas event is a chance for everyone to come together as a community and celebrate together. They also make it a point that everyone who comes to the event will leave with a little something to spread some cheer.
To help with this the store donated $1 500 worth of gift cards.
Owner and manager of Giant Tiger Bob Armstrong says they are more than happy to help. "Well we've always liked to support Operation Sharing it's probably the best organization as far as sharing the wealth at Christmas time. And giving to everyone that needs it and we wanted to make sure they were able to do that this year and give a little extra." Bob Armstrong Owner and manager of Giant Tiger.
Co-facilitator of the Christmas event Raymond Fava says they see hundred of people coming together as a strong community during the event and this donation will go a long way. "One of the issues that we always seem to struggle with is certain age groups - getting presents for them. Teenage boys and girls and young men. And this will give us the opportunity to hand those out and with the generosity of not just Giant Tiger but the whole community as a whole makes the event better and better every year.
