Local entrepreneurs will have another opportunity to ask questions about the recent changes to the Labour Relations Act and the Employment Standards Act.
WOODSTOCK - Representatives from the Ministry of Labour will be coming to the Friendly City, in order to answer some questions about the changes to the Labour Relations Act and the Employment Standards Act.
The Woodstock Development Office, BIA, Chamber of Commerce and Small Business Enterprise Centre hosted a similar town hall style meeting back in December.
Development Officer Brad Hammond says they had a lot of local entrepreneurs in attendance.
"They had a variety of questions. For example whether doctors notes would still be required if someone misses a day due to illness, whether there's alternatives that are acceptable, and differences between some of the changes as it relates to part time staff and full time staff."
Hammond says they will be coming back with more information this time around.
"Unfortunately at that point in time the Ministry of Labour staff hadn't received their training yet on the new legislation that is now in place. The plan now is that the Ministry has received their training so they can come out and answer the questions more specifically and with better information."
The next forum is still in the early planning stages, but Hammond hopes to set a date in either late February or early March.
