Future Oxford's Great Pumpkin Rescue is an initiative to save all the pumpkin waste after Halloween and use it to feed people and livestock.
Future Oxford Co-Chair Bryan Smith is responsible for saving the pumpkins says it actually doesn't matter whether its a pumpkin, squash, gourd or even a jack-o-lantern, you can still deposit them.
"They are all in the same family. They all make good soup, they all make good pies, they all make good baking. We're encouraging people to donate if they choose to, but also haul them into their kitchen, bake them and then scoop that flesh out and save it for the winter when food prices are probably going to be even more than they are now."
The pumpkins can be dropped off at many sites across the county, and if you'd like to make a deposit, the listed sites are on the Great Pumpkin Rescue Facebook page.
