Green bins will be delivered to 24,000 homes in Woodstock and South-West Oxford over the next couple of months.
WOODSTOCK/SWOX - If you live in Woodstock or South-West Oxford, you can expect to find a green bin on your doorstep sometime soon.
The County will be dropping them off at 24,000 homes across the two municipalities throughout October and November. They will received not only a 45-litre green bin, but also a 7-litre kitchen container for food scraps and a set of instructions.
The first round of deliveries will be directed towards single-detached homes, semi-detached homes, townhouses and apartments with five units or less along existing garbage collection routes. Green bin collection will begin for them in January 2026.
Larger multi-residential units and apartment buildings will join the program later in the year, but they have to complete an online enrollment form that will open on November 1st, 2025.
Residents living above businesses in downtown Woodstock also have to arrange the delivery of their green bin with County officials. They can do so by e-mailing info@wasteline.ca or calling 1-800-755-0394 with extension 3159.
Green bin collection will be brought to the other municipalities in Oxford in May 2027.
