Effective February 28th, pre-arrival PCR testing for fully vaccinated travelers will no longer be required.
The federal government is easing border restrictions in response to a drop in Omicron cases.
Health Minister Jean-Yves DuClos says beginning February 28th, fully vaccinated travelers arriving into Canada will not be required to take the pre-arrival PCR test.
Instead, travelers will be able to choose between getting a rapid antigen test or a molecular test from the country of origin.
Travelers may still be selected for random testing upon arrival.
Unvaccinated Canadians will need to be tested at the airport and isolate upon arrival.
As well, unvaccinated children traveling with fully immunized adults will no longer need to isolate from school or daycare for two weeks upon return to Canada.
The government is also lifting its advisory urging Canadians to avoid all non-essential foreign travel.
