The Friendly Ghost Costume Stop by takeover Cowan Park on Saturday October 1st. All of the Halloween costumes will be free, but donations will be accepted.
WOODSTOCK - The Friendly Ghost Costume Stop is returning for the eighth year running.
The Friendly City's favourite costume event is going to be back at Cowan Park. This year will be indoors and it will take place from 9:00 a.m until 12 p.m. on Saturday October 1st.
Sarah Allen is the organizer of the event, and she explains what the Friendly Ghost Costume Stop is all about.
"The idea was to save a little bit of money for parents. We don't care about income, we care about saving you money and we'll save the environment at the same time."
Everyone knows Halloween costumes can get really expensive, especially when it's only meant to be worn once a year at best. Allen says the goal is to give away 200 costumes.
At this year's event, there will be Halloween decor available, a make-your-own-costume station, and even a book sale supporting Childcan, an organization that supports parents that learn their child has cancer. The suggested donation will be 25 cents.
Allen was also very thankful for the support of the community and the event's sponsors, which includes Little Caesars in Woodstock. They have a special promotion, where if you donate a costume there, you get a free Crazy Bread.
