Snow mixed with ice will turn into freezing rain tonight in Oxford County and the surrounding region.
OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Oxford County and the surrounding region.
A band of snow mixed with ice pellets will move through the regions tonight with 2 to 5 cm of snow. The snow and ice mix will eventually turn into freezing rain overnight. The freezing rain may last several hours before changing over to rain early Wednesday morning.
Motorists travelling tonight need to use caution as the roads will become very slippery. Slow down and drive to the conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
