The Town of Ingersoll is bringing back it's free tree program this year and 70 maple trees will be given away to local homeowners.
INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll is offering free maple trees to Ingersoll residents to plant in their front yards.
Lenore Capern with Public Works explains why they have started this tree program.
"Preference is given to residents who have had trees removed prior by the Town of Ingersoll or who have moved into a new residential development to beautify their streetscape."
Capern says the response from the community has been great so far, with over 40 Bareroot trees given out.
"We have had such an overwhelming response, we had 40 maple trees to start with and they have all been spoken so and we just actually obtained 30 more, so there will be 70 maple trees we will be giving out this year."
You can apply for a maple tree if you are a resident in the Town of Ingersoll by emailing Lenore at lcapern@ingersoll.ca or give her a call at 519-485-0120 ext 6223.
