Premier Ford has hinted that it will focus more on spending rather than balancing the books.
ONTARIO - It's budget day in Queen's Park.
Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy is set to table the province's spending plan for 2025-2026 at 4:05 p.m. today.
Premier Doug Ford has hinted that this budget will be focused more on spending rather than balancing the books. He has said the province can always balance the books in a year or two, and he wants to spend some money infrastructure and programs to keep the economy afloat during US President Donald's Trumps tariffs.
He has also announced that the gas tax cut will become permanent, and his government will be removing the tolls from the provincially owned portion of Highway 407, which begins at Brock Road in Pickering and ends at Highway 35/115 in Clarington.
