The department will be on-site at Cowen Park tonight to host a general information session.
WOODSTOCK - With the long weekend around the corner, the Woodstock Fire Department is giving the community a refresher on safe firework use.
The department will be on-site at Cowen Park tonight to host a general information session for the fireworks by-law.
Public Information Coordinator Lisa Woods gave a rundown of what to expect at the session.
"[We will be talking about] the fireworks by-law, what dates fireworks are allowed to be set off, what the rules are around that."
Woods added an important fact they are trying to remind the community.
"These are specific dates [for fireworks], so that doesn't mean the entire weekend. It doesn't mean the week before or the week after, it means ONLY on those dates."
The session begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free to attend. The community is encouraged to join the Q&A period afterward.
The WFD is hosting an information session to provide details about the fireworks regulations in the City of Woodstock. The session takes place at Cowan Park Sportsplex. Tuesday, May 2 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. pic.twitter.com/YSZIgWORD4
