Few Using Goff Hall as Cooling Centre

Despite the extreme temperatures, Woodstock residents don't seem to be taking advantage of municipal cooling stations. Secretary to the Facility Operations Manager Janice Bloomfield says attendance at the Goff Hall location has been very slow. "We've had a few people on Tuesday, none today and that's about it." Bloomfield says despite the poor turn out, the cooling centre will continue to operate until the heat alert is called off. "We have tables and chairs in there, the air conditioning is pumping and there is free water." Goff Hall is open daily from 9am - 9pm as a cooling centre.
