A crash between a car and transport truck at the main intersection of Thamesford has claimed the life of a man today. The driver of the car was extricated and rushed to Ingersoll's Alexandra Hospital after this afternoon's collision, but was pronounced dead in hospital. A name, age and hometown have not been released, as police are delivering the news to his family. The transport driver was taken to hospital for observation. Police have shut down Highway 2 between the 19th and 15th Lines for investigation. They're appealing for any witnesses that haven't yet spoken to police to call them at 1-888-310-1122. The crash happened at 5:15 this afternoon at Highway 2 and Allen St.
