An upcoming seminar at Stratford City Hall will teach people how to spot the difference between real and fake money.
STRATFORD - Stratford Police are teaming up with the RCMP and the Bank of Canada, to put on a Counterfeit Currency Seminar.
The get together at Stratford City Hall on Monday will train people how to spot fake money.
Acting Deputy Chief Sam Theocharis says their are certain things to look for to spot fake cash.
"Ususally it's the paper, the printing quality these days is very good when it comes to counterfeits but it is the watermarks and everything else that are the issue."
Theocaris says everyone is invited to attend this free session.
"It's geared to business people, business owners and we would also encourage people from the public to attend because you never know when you are going to recieve a counterfeit bill, whether it's on purpose or accidentally passed on by a merchant."
The information session will include hands on activities and written resources. It is happening on Monday, March 19 from 1pm-3pm in the Auditorium at the Stratford City Hall.
