WOODSTOCK - The Oxford County Pride Committee is going to celebrate LGBTQ pride all month long this coming June.
They will be hosting a Pride Month kickoff party at Woodstock's Unifor Hall on Saturday June 2nd. The 80's themed event will include a drag show, and tickets are $10 each or $15 for VIP passes.
The committee will also host their popular Family Day celebration in Museum Square on Saturday June 16th. There will be lots of vendors and activities on hand, and Woodstock musician Cory Stewart will be in attendance.
President Tami Murray says you can also expect to see lots of cowboys and cowgirls.
"The big theme for Museum Square is going to be hoedown this year. We've had superheroes in previous years, but this year it's going to be hoedown so dress in your best plaid."
The committee is also partnering up with the Woodstock Library for a Drag Queen Storytime, and with the Woodstock Art Gallery for a special LGBTQ themed See You At the Movies.
Murray says the events are open to all.
"We are very inclusive. I don't want people to think they have to be LGBTQ to attend our events, we welcome our allies and anyone who is in support of spreading our message of diversity."
The committee has a complete Pride event calendar posted on their website.
