The first of many everyday energy learning session is happening at the Ingersoll Library tomorrow.
INGERSOLL - Oxford County residents are invited to Ingersoll for the first everyday energy learning session.
Future Oxford is hosting a drop in session at the Ingersoll Library from 3-6 pm on Thursday. You will get a chance to learn about the Future Oxford Sustainability Plan and Oxford's commitment to 100 percent renewable energy.
Manager of Strategic Initiatives Jay Heaman tells Heart FM they are also going to a Electric Vehicle panel discussion starting at 7 pm.
"It will be an informal setting, you can ask the most basic questions and hear from people who that have driven electric vehicles for awhile. Understand where they have been, what the opportunities are today to drive an electric vehicle, why you want to even consider moving to electric mobility as compared to staying with fossil fuel driven transport and how that can impact both cost environmental improvements and so forth."
Those who attend the EV session will get to learn more about the future of electric mobility and what's involved in switching to this technology.
The Oxford County Library discussion will include:
- History and future projections
- What is “range anxiety” and how is it being addressed?
- What is charger anxiety and what is the status of EV charging infrastructure?
- How has the cost of ownership changed over the past decade?
- Saying good-bye to the gas pump: a discussion EV charging by renewable energy sources
- What is Vehicle-To-Grid? Turning your EV into a backup generator for your home
- Battery technology: a brief history and the evolution of energy storage devices
