The merger between ERTH Power Corporation and Goderich Hydro has been approved by the Ontario Energy Board.
INGERSOLL - The Ontario Energy Board has put their final stamp of approval on the merger between ERTH Power Corporation and West Coast Huron Energy Inc.
ERTH Power Corporation was previously known as Erie Thames Powerlines Corporation. The transaction will result in the merged company operating under one distribution licence. They will be responsible for providing electricity service to 24,000 customers in 15 communities, including Ingersoll.
The deal will become official in January pending sign off on closing documents with plans to transition to the ERTH branded utility, ERTH Power Corporation in the New Year.
Goderich Hydro currently distributes electricity to customers in the Town of Goderich while ERTH provides electricity distribution to customers in Aylmer, Beachville, Belmont, Burgessville, Clinton, Dublin, Embro, Ingersoll, Mitchell, Norwich, Otterville, Port Stanley, Thamesford and Tavistock.
