Community Futures Oxford handed out two awards today for young entrepreneur and entrepreneur of the year.
NORWICH - Community Futures Oxford hand out a couple of awards at their Annual General Meeting in Norwich today.
Taking home the Young Entrepreneur of the year award was Puffin Media. Puffin media provides high quality affordable video content for any size business.
General Manager Allan Simm tells Heart FM how they select the awards every year.
"We take a look at our portfolio, we take a look at the grants that we have given over the past year to identify those that are performing well and showing great promise."
Winning the entrepreneur of the year was Dan Mackenzie with Ingersoll Products. Ingersoll Products was founded in 1976 and Dan MacKenzie acquired the business 5 years ago and has hired on 5 new employees while also increasing their sales. Simm explains why they selected Ingersoll Products for the award.
"So again we take a look at our loan portfolio. This is a client that we have lent money to, we take a look at their business and how it is performing, how hard is the entrepreneur working, we know all of our entrepreneurs work hard but in this special case, Dan has been introducing new products, the business is growing and he is also employing a lot of people in Ingersoll."
