The former assistant to Stephen Kenny led the side to the league title last season, but a poor run of results and boardroom tensions sees him leave Oriel Park.
Vinny Perth has been relieved of his duties as Dundalk head coach.
A former assistant to Stephen Kenny since 2013, he was handed the reins at Oriel Park ahead of the 2019 season.
Perth's only full season in charge would see them crowned SSE Airtricity Premier Division champions.
However, Dundalk are eight points off current leaders Shamrock Rovers.
And Perth's last game in charge saw them exit the Champions League at the hands of Slovenian champions NK Celje on Wednesday night.
LMFM understands that the club's board had put pressure on Perth regarding his team selection for the opening qualifier in the competition and had been warned there would be consequences if he didn't follow their instructions.
However, he refused to give in and picked the team as he saw fit.
Coaches John Gill and Alan Reynolds have taken charge ahead of tomorrow's trip to Sligo Rovers, which we'll have live commentary of on LMFM.ie and the LMFM App from 5pm.
However its rumoured the club has its eye on former Manchester City coach Mark Burton to take over on a full-time basis.
The Canadian had been working with the squad alongside Perth up until a few weeks ago at the request of the club's owners, and is seen as the next man for the role.
Our soccer reporter Adrian Taaffe reflected on Vinny Perth's dismissal, the reasons believed to be behind it and the prospect of Mark Burton on this morning's Michael Reade Show:
