Coats for Kids is in desperate need of warm clothing as the weather starts to turn colder.
WOODSTOCK - Donations are badly needed for the Coats for Kids program this year.
Coats for Kids is in full swing and you can donate your old coats, mitts, hats, and winter boots at several locations in the Friendly City. All of your donations will be given to people in need in our community and distributed through Operation Sharing. So far donations have been really down this year and they are hoping things will pick up soon.
Organizer Sharon Maybee tells Heart FM they have a number of locations to drop off the coats including Sobeys, Heart FM, Giant Tiger, Oxford County Admin Building, St David's United Church, and Church of Epiphany.
Maybee says the coats will be handed out on Friday November 18th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday November 19th from 9:00 a.m. to noon at College Ave United Church at 22 Wilson Street.
"Once they are donated, they are gathered all up and we have two sessions where we distribute them. We don't qualify the people who get the coats, you don't necessarily have to be on welfare or anything like that, we want to make sure that anyone who needs a coat or warm clothing is provided with them."
