Woodstock Police say in the last 24-hours, they've been called to 9 reports of domestic violence in the city. They say it's an ongoing problem that deserves more attention. They're not releasing any names, to protect the identity of the victims in the cases, but they have released some info: -January 10th, shortly after midnight, Woodstock Police officers responded to a report of domestic violence at a residence in the area of Mill Street and Main Street. Police have arrested and charged a 50-year-old female with break and enter, assault with a weapon, mischief and breach of probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing. The victim sustained minor injuries. -Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Woodstock Police responded to a report of domestic violence at a residence located in the area of Devonshire Avenue and Vansittart Avenue. A 45-year-old Woodstock male has been charged with assault and held for a bail hearing. The twenty two year old female is also charged with assault and will answer to the charge in Woodstock court. Minor injuries were reported in this incident. -During the lunch hour, January 10th, Woodstock Police responded to a report of domestic violence at a residence located in the area of James Street and Clarke Street. Police responded and found that some damage had been done to the residence as well as the victim receiving some minor injury. A 20-year-old female has been charged with assault and mischief and will answer to the charges in Woodstock court. -Around 7:00 p.m. Woodstock Police officers responded to report of a domestic violence at a residence in the area of Dundas Street and Springbank Avenue. Investigation revealed that the female victim had been assaulted by a male. A 40-year-old Woodstock male is charged with assault, utter threats, criminal harassment and overcoming resistance to commit indictable offence, he was held for a bail hearing. The victim received minor injuries in this incident. Anyone who is a victim of domestic violence or witnesses domestic violence should call police immediately.
