The Norwich Merchants 50th anniversary celebrations will continue in the New Year.
NORWICH - The Norwich Merchants are ready to host the Doherty Division All Star Game in the New Year.
Lots of people will be gathering at the Norwich Community Centre on January 6th.
President Ken Gillanders says the fun will begin 4:30pm with the All Star Game.
"It's the best players throughout the entire division; which includes last year's Schmalz Cup Champion Ayr Centennials as well as local players from the Woodstock Navy Vets, Tavistock Braves, ourselves and so on."
It will be followed by the Prospects Game at 7:30pm, as players look to advance to the Junior B level. Walter Gretzky, the father of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky will also be making an appearance.
Gillanders says they are happy play host as the Merchants celebrate their 50th anniversary.
"A few years back we had asked if we would be able to host the All Star and Prospect Game for this year as part of our 50th celebration and the league was so inclined to do that."
A $10 admission fee will get you in to see both games.
