Oxford County Public Health is trying to verify a dog's vaccination history after a boy was bitten over the weekend.
INGERSOLL - Oxford County Public Health is looking for a dog owner after a child was bitten in Ingersoll.
The 11 year old boy encountered the dog near the train tracks by the Independent Grocery store on Saturday afternoon between 3 - 3:30 p.m.
The dog is described as a Husky/German Shepard with white/cream coloured markings. The owner of the dog is thought to be an older man in his 50s or 60s and about 5'8" tall. The man was walking two dogs at the time, both with similar markings.
Public Health is searching for the owner so they can verify the dogs rabies vaccination history. Anyone with information is asked to call public health inspector Serena Roberts at 519-533-0131. Without proof of vaccination, the child will have to go through a series of rabies shots.
