STRATFORD - Police are searching for a man who was purposely coughing on LCBO employees.
Police say the incident happened on Tuesday March 24th, around noon. The man appeared annoyed by the safety measures at the store. After completing his purchase the man leaned over the counter and coughed twice, directing both coughs towards the employee.
The male then left the store and while walking out he allegedly stated to people waiting in line that it was not worth the wait to just cough on the cashier.
Due to the concerns with how the virus of COVID-19 is spread, the Stratford Police Service is investigating this incident as an assault and is looking for assistance from the public in locating the person responsible.
The man is described as being white, 65-75 years old, with short grey hair, balding on the top. At the time of the incident he was wearing glasses, a brown Tuff Duck style work jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
The Stratford Police is requesting that if anyone knows the identity of this male to please contact them at 519-271-4141. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
