County issues warning about cold weather possibly leading to frozen pipes in your home.
Frozen pipes have caused their fair share of problems this winter.
Oxford County is warning local residents to check for poorly insulated pipes in their home to try and ensure they don't freeze and burst.
With another cold weather alert in effect for tonight with a low of -20, Public Works says the frost continues to push deeper into the ground, possibly leading to pipe freezing.
If you think your home could be at risk, they recommend running your cold water tap slowly, just above a drip. They also recommend regularly checking on the faucet you're running to ensure the water is not backing up.
If you suspect your water service is frozen, you're advised to call Oxford Public Works at at 519-537-7961 for an assessment and advice.
