The Make Our Village Festive contest in Norwich will be giving back to local charities
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - Forget decking the halls, in Norwich Township it's all about the doors!
Residents and businesses can participate in the Make Our Village Festive Contest by decorating their front door. Businesses are allowed to decorate an inside door if they chose to.
RE/MAX Broker Laura Barker says it is very easy to get started.
"I would say go to the internet; go to Pinterest and just use your imagination! We're seeing all different types of things popping up so it's just lots of fun. It doesn't cost a lot of money - some people are just buying things from the dollar store or using things that they have."
Barker tells Heart FM the resident and business with the best decorated door will win $500 to be donated to a local cause or charity of their choice.
"We have so many volunteers in our township that tirelessly fundraise all the time and we just want to give those guys a bit of fun. They are kind of competing, and having fun, and putting money toward their causes."
You can call the Norwich RE/MAX Office to sign up 519-863-3383, you can e-mail Laura Barker at info@ruralgirl.ca or you can visit the Your Rural Girl Facebook page.
Judging will take place between December 5th and December 9th. You can choose if you want your door to be judged in the daylight or in the evening when you sign up. All doors in the contest will be photographed.
