Dog owners in Tillsonburg have until Tuesday February 28th to fill out the licensing forms online.
TILLSONBURG - Tillsonburg residents are being reminded to register their dogs with the municipality.
Licensing your pet only takes a few minutes online. The license will become active immediately, but pet tags typically take eight to ten business days to arrive in the mail. You can also create a profile that can help reunite you with your dog if they get lost.
The program is run through DocuPet. All registration can be done online here. If you do not have access to the internet, you are also welcome to call toll-free 1-855-249-1370.
Mayor of Tillsonburg Deb Gilvesy bought a brand-new tag recently, saying it costs just $33.74 for the license and tag together. She explained that the cost goes back to many areas.
"The fee revenue covers the cost of DocuPet administration, software for the app, animal control, and pound services, and it offsets the costs of enforcement and training enforcements."
As of last year, cats no longer required to be registered.
Licenses expire on February 28th each year, regardless of when you purchased the original tag.
Lots of municipalities have discontinued their dog licensing programs and Gilvesy says Tillsonburg Town Council will discuss the matter later this year.
Have you renewed your dog licence yet? Remember, all dogs in the Town of Tillsonburg must be licensed annually. Renew online on or before February 28 and save up to 50%. https://t.co/YhA585tYSt pic.twitter.com/6kwriopZwS
