The Woodstock and District Developmental Services were supported through curling today. The Woodstock Curling Club have hosted the Annual Charity Bonspiel for a number of years and have supported a variety of organizations. This year, WDDS was the charity of choice. Community Development Co-ordinator at WDDS Deb Roloson says they had a great turnout. "We're happy to say we have a full roster of 16 teams. The teams are made up of various businesses in town who support our cause. They know it's the first Friday in December so they mark it on their calendar every year," said Roloson. Co-Coach of the Woodstock Curling Club Rockers Rose Hartnett had a team with her. "We're taking two of our athletes with us that curl with the Special Olympics. Then we have another two that are coming this afternoon. It's just really good experience for them to be our in the community and to see who is helping fund all of their programs," said Hartnett. Financial Planner Jeff Workman says the Investment Planning Counsel is happy to support this organization. "WDDS is a really important part of the community. They provide a great service to the community and the team at Investment Planning Counsel really believe in what they do," said Workman. This is the first year the company has supported the Bonspiel.
