CUPE will be holding a press conference at 10:00 a.m. in order to announce the results of the education worker contract vote.
ONTARIO - We're about to find out if the education workers represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees have decided to ratify the deal made with the province.
The union will be holding a press conference at 10:00 a.m. Both CUPE and the Ford Government will have to return to the bargaining table if the union members turned down the contract.
Early childhood educators, educational assistants, custodians, librarians, and office administration walked off the job for two days last month, after the government passed legislation to force a deal on them in hopes of preventing the strike action. The province repealed the legislation and both sides returned to the bargaining table.
