TILLSONBURG - The COVID-19 outbreak at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital has expanded to another unit.
The outbreak was first declared on the 2 South in-patient unit back on January 19 and now includes the 2 North in-patient unit.
The hospital has implemented the following measures during the outbreak:
- TDMH is now closed to inpatient admissions to 2 South and 2 North. Exceptions will be made for those patients who have a COVID-19 infection.
- Enhanced Personal Protective Equipment and infection control measures in the impacted areas.
- Surveillance COVID testing of all inpatients.
- Symptom Monitoring of all staff working on the impacted area.
- Continued postponement of all non-urgent surgeries and procedures.
- Additional visitor restrictions on the affected units.
Residents are encouraged to not delay seeking for urgent and emergent needs. The Emergency Department, ICU and 1 South in-patient unit remains open.
At this time only necessary visitors for compassionate grounds are permitted on the impacted inpatient units. Current visiting restrictions remain in effect for all other areas in the hospital.
