Social housing buildings in Oxford County will be going through some renovations, after council voted to expend the Social Housing Improvement Program Fund.
Warden David Mayberry tells Heart FM the money will be used for maintenance tasks like fixing a roof or improving the windows and doors.
"This is sort of the natural kind of reconstruction or improvement of the basic building. It's sort of maintenance that we all do and the county is no different than the average home owner."
Mayberry says it's important to make sure these buildings are up to standard.
"Like anybody's home we want to keep it in good shape and we want people to be relatively comfortable in their homes; these are homes for people in our community."
All of the money in the Social Housing Improvement Program Fund was provided by the provincial government.
