Registration for the 5th annual Cool Runnings Trail Race will begin at 8:30am today, with all the proceeds benefitting the Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford.
WOODSTOCK - The Cool Runnings Trail Race Committee presented a last minute delegation to Woodstock City Council as they prepare for their 5th annual event.
They asked council if they could borrow cones, barriers and an AED from the Parks Department for the race in Roth Park today.
Janet Thompson expects a decent turn out.
"We have about 85 runners signed up because the weather is so good. A lot of parents wait for the kid's race to not sign up until the day because they want it to be a nice day so the kids have a lot of fun."
It will cost $40 for the 5k and $55 for the 10k. As always the kid's fun run will be free.
Thompson says all of the funds raised will benefit the local Canadian Cancer Society.
"Some of it goes towards research and some of it goes to some of the support services that are offered by Oxford County so driving patients to their appointments and things like that."
Registration will open at 8:30am with the kids run starting at 9:30am and the other races kicking off at 10am.
