Construction will begin this month on a new Woodstock Transit Terminal. City Council approved the winning bid of just over $1.1-million to Kiwi Newton Construction, based out of Guelph. The low bid is also an indication that the project is set to come in under-budget. There was $1.3-million budgeted for the new terminal. Demolition of the former Swiss Chalet building cost just over $200-thousand. The project will see York St. paved over to create a parking area for city buses, a series of bus shelters, and a small hut for the drivers. Construction will begin this month, and the terminal should be complete in January.
