Springford residents are very concerned about a potential new wedding venue development in the south end of town.
SPRINGFORD - A lot of Springford residents attended the last nights Oxford County Council meeting, to protest a potential zone change in their backyard.
The owners of the Bell Farmstead property at the south end of town would like to rezone their land so they could build a proper wedding venue.
Albert Klyn is one of the many residents concerned about how it could impact the small town community, adding the owners have held tent weddings there in the past.
"There's beautiful spots to have pictures but they have been having ceremonies and their loud speakers are so loud a lot of Springford can hear it."
Klyn is also worried about the traffic impact it could have.
Oxford County Council decided to send the application back to Norwich Township Council because more residents sent in letters voicing their concerns.
Evan Van Moerkerke, the applicant for the project, says they are willing to address these issues.
"We're just hoping that we can really meet their concerns. They are very attainable and they're not outrageous."
