Colin Campbell of Tillsonburg will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a member of the builder's category.
TILLSONBURG - The 2024 Hockey Hall of Fame inductees will have an Oxford County connection.
Colin Campbell was born and still lives in Tillsonburg and is on the 2024 ballot.
He had a long playing career, which started in 1970-71 with the Peterborough Petes of the OHA. Campbell spent three seasons with the Petes, before getting drafted in the WHA Amateur draft by the Vancouver Blazers in 1973. He then went to play in the NHL and spent time with Pittsburgh, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Detroit.
After his playing career, he went on to coach and had the head coaching position with the New York Rangers for four seasons, which spanned from 1994 to 1998. After he was let go by the Rangers, he was hired by the NHL to become the Senior Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations. Campbell is no longer the Senior Vice President but continues to be the Director of Hockey Operations.
Campbell will enter the Hockey Hall of Fame in the Builders category.
