A lawsuit originally launched by a former Woodstock Sears owner granted class action status
A lawsuit launched by the former owners of the Woodstock Sears Hometown store has been granted class action status.
The $100 million lawsuit was launched last July on behalf of 260 Sears Hometown dealers across Canada saying it had become 'virtually impossible to realize a profit unless it achieves unattainable revenues'.
Among their complaints, dealers claim Sears had lowered their commissions, reduced their local advertising and sold directly to customers.
Sears has denied many of the claims.
No word on when the lawsuit could make it's way to court.
