Traffic charges over the long weekend are in from Oxford County OPP. 158 charges were laid on our County roads: 21 of them being seatbelt charges. OPP say that even though the seatbelt law has been in effect for over 35 years, drivers and passengers continue not to wear it. Their message to the public remains the same: impaired, distracted, and aggressive driving will not be tolerated. The following charges were laid: 4 Impaired Driving charges 7 Distracted Driving charges 10 Three Day Licence suspensions (Alcohol related) 13 Hazardous Moving violations 21 Seatbelt charges 103 Speeding charges
