The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime.
LAS VEGAS - The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champions once again.
MVP Patrick Mahomes threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman with only three minutes remaining in overtime, leading the Chiefs to a 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The game was one for the history books. The Chiefs are the first repeat champions in 19 years, and this was also the second overtime game in Super Bowl history.
Kansas City has won the Vince Lombardi Trophy three times in the past five years. If they win again next year, they would become the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl three years in a row.
