What started out as a single-vehicle crash on Highway 401 ended with two people being charged with drug, weapons, and identity fraud related charges.
THAMES CENTRE - Drug-related charges have been laid after the Middlesex OPP responded to a single-vehicle crash in Thames Centre.
A car collided with some debris in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at around 11:30 p.m. yesterday.
Officers wound up charging a 33-year-old man from Wallaceberg with possession of methamphetamine and occupying a motor vehicle knowing there was a restricted weapon.
Upon further investigation, the OPP also charged a 39-year-old man from Stratford. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine along with possession of an identity document and personation with the intent to avoid arrest, prosecution, or obstruct justice (identity fraud).
