Changes To Tillsonburg Intersection

Oxford OPP are once again stressing the importance of paying attention while you're behind the wheel.

TILLSONBURG - Oxford OPP are once again stressing the importance of paying attention while you're behind the wheel.

Officers issued 15 tickets at the intersection of Baldwin Street and Quarter Town Line in Tillsonburg on Monday, after the drivers allegedly ran stop signs.

Constable Stacey Culbert says they have new signs at that intersection.

"Previously this was a two-way stop where the controlled stop signs were posted on Baldwin. Now new signs have been erected so it's a four way stop, so Quarter Town Line for north and south has to stop as well."

Culbert says you need to be aware of everything that's going on when you're driving.

"We're urging people to be aware of their surroundings. Yes you may have driven this road a hundred times over the last 10 years, but you have to be aware of your surroundings especially when you're getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle."

Culbert adds the new signs also have flashing lights, so they should be easy to spot.

Running a stop sign can result in a $110 fine and three demerit points.
