The Township of Norwich is celebrating their 50th anniversary with an open house tomorrow.
NORWICH - The Township of Norwich is celebrating a major milestone.
Tomorrow, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. there will be an open house to mark the 50th anniversary of the Township being officially formed. Chief Administration Officer, Matt Smith says what residents will be able to do during the day.
"Over at the operations centre, we'll have some of our public work's equipment there for people to climb in and have a look around. At the administration office, we'll have some historical displays, people will be able to come through the administrative office and have a look around the council chambers and the office space, a chance to sit in a fire truck and have a look around the facility."
Smith is looking forward to being a part of the open house.
"I think I'm kind of excited about getting to meet some more of the public at this event, and I'm sure they will be able to tell me much more about what's happened over the last 50 years here than I've managed to get to grips with since I arrived in the township in April."
Smith adds there will be a free BBQ for the residents at the Administration Office, as well as a lapel pin for the first 100 people through the Office.
