Effective April 25th, unvaccinated kids aged 5-11 traveling with a fully immunized parent will not need a COVID-19 test to enter the country, regardless of immunization status.
Canada is relaxing some of its border rules for children and those fully immunized against COVID-19.
The Public Health Agency of Canada says effective April 25th, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children between the ages of 5-11 will not need a COVID-19 test to enter the country, so long as they are with a parent or guardian who is fully vaccinated.
However, pre-entry tests will still be required for unvaccinated travelers aged 12 and older.
As well, medically exempt travelers, anyone fully immunized, and kids aged 5-11 with a fully vaccinated parent or guardian, will no longer have to show a plan to isolate upon their return to Canada.
In addition, Canadians with both shots won't have to mask up in public spaces for 14 days upon return from another country.
They also don't have to monitor or report if they develop signs or symptoms of the virus, maintain a list of close contacts and locations vistied, or isolate if another person they traveled with tests positive or shows symptoms.
You'll still need to provide travel information on the ArriveCAN app or website within 72 hours of arriving in Canada, or before boarding a ship or a plane coming into the country.
