The 4th annual Cam's Contracting Food Drive was a huge success, raising $4,000 worth of donations for Operation Sharing.
WOODSTOCK - About $4,000 worth of donations were raised during the Cam's Contracting Food Drive this year.
Director of Operations Cameron Young says all of the donations were dropped off at Operation Sharing on Peel Street.
"They run a daytime shelter in there as well as The INN runs the overnight shelter. So all of the donations will go towards people that are looking for help, the less fortunate in our community. They can walk in off the street at any time of the day to have access to food, clothing, and just a safe place to stay and get out of the weather."
This is the fourth annual food drive for Cam's Contracting and Young says it's their most successful yet. He also says the need is greater this year due to the cost of inflation.
"The main item this year we focused on was a lot of diapers and stuff like that for infants and toddlers. It seems as though items like that as well as simple cleaning supplies, shampoo, conditioner and other day-to-day items they are always running low on."
Young says they will be hosting another food drive next year, but he's encouraging everyone to donate to Operation Sharing year-round to help the less fortunate.
